Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), has announced the appointment of Greg Mays as President for the company’s commercial and operations teams.
Mays is a seasoned aviation executive with a track record of delivering growth and operational excellence. As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Sun Country Airlines, he led the carrier through periods of rapid change and performance improvement. Earlier in his career, he held a senior role at Alaska Airlines, strengthening maintenance, engineering and labour relations during a time of transformation. He also spent more than a decade at Delta Air Lines, where he managed complex global operations in maintenance, ground handling and cargo. In addition, he gained strategic experience at Boston Consulting Group, advising aviation and defence clients on critical operational challenges.
“Greg is a strategic and people-focused leader who consistently elevates performance through collaboration, discipline, and vision and we are excited to have him on board,” said Mike Berger, Chief Executive Officer of ATSG. “His operational expertise along with his aviation acumen, position him perfectly to propel ATSG forward with a continued focus on safety, growth, operational excellence, and profitability.”
Under Mays’ leadership, ATSG will continue to expand its global leasing platform with the A330 converted freighter and its EASA-approved A321. At the same time, he is committed to strengthening the workforce through initiatives such as AirborneTech, which enables employees to earn their aviation maintenance technician licence in as little as twelve months. By combining growth with innovative programmes, ATSG is positioning itself to remain a global leader in aircraft leasing, operations and support services.
