Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) has signed a long-term component support agreement with Parata Air, South Korea’s newest airline. Parata Air, owned by Winix Group, will begin operations with a fleet of six Airbus A330ceo aircraft, all covered under a six-year power-by-the-hour (PBH) components contract. This marks the first time a Korean airline has signed an Airbus fleet components contract with AFI KLM E&M, highlighting the significance of this partnership.
Under the agreement, AFI KLM E&M will deliver full PBH support, including access to pooled components, repair services, main base kits, component health monitoring, and logistics coverage for the entire A330 fleet. As Parata Air expands its operations, the airline plans to introduce four Airbus A320 aircraft to serve regional destinations in Japan, Vietnam, wider Northeast Asia, and eventually major cities in the United States.
Parata Air selected AFI KLM E&M as its exclusive component support provider, citing its world-leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) expertise, strong reputation for safety, and extensive customer base within its PBH pool. The agreement will leverage AFI KLM E&M’s well-established hub-and-spoke operations across Asia, supporting Parata Air’s ambitions in the region’s fast-growing aviation market.
Yoon Chulmin, CEO of Parata Air, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating: “As we are preparing to launch Parata Air with the brand slogan ‘Fly New, Fly Happy, Fly Together’, we are delighted to partner with AFI KLM E&M for our Airbus fleet. Their global know-how and regional support capabilities give us the confidence to deliver exceptional service and reliability to our future passengers.”
