Joramco has entered into its first-ever maintenance agreement with Air India, a leading global carrier and member of the Star Alliance.
Announced during MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore, the agreement marks a significant milestone for Joramco as it expands its footprint into the Indian aviation market. Under the deal, Joramco will undertake heavy maintenance checks on Air India’s wide-body fleet, specifically its Boeing 787 and Boeing 777 aircraft. This collaboration underscores the growing demand for high-quality MRO services as airlines across the region continue to modernise and expand their fleets.
Fraser Currie, Chief Strategy & Commercial Officer at DAE Engineering, welcomed the agreement, stating that Joramco is pleased to add Air India to its portfolio of global partners. He highlighted the partnership as a major step in Joramco’s expansion into the Indian market and expressed confidence in building a strong and enduring relationship with the airline in the years ahead.
S.K. Dash, Chief Technical Officer at Air India, also emphasised the strategic value of the agreement. He noted that partnering with Joramco will help strengthen Air India’s repair and maintenance capabilities, ultimately improving the reliability of its fleet and supporting its operational performance.
This new collaboration represents a key step for both organisations: for Joramco, it marks an entry into a rapidly growing market, while for Air India, it promises enhanced technical support and improved fleet availability as it continues its transformation and growth trajectory.
