Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has secured two major long-term contracts with China Airlines and Japan Airlines (JAL), strengthening its role in supporting Asia-Pacific carriers.
For China Airlines, the FlightSense and Dispatch solutions will be provided under 20-year agreements. These will cover Boeing 787 and other wide-body fleets. The services aim to boost operational efficiency, reliability and maintenance scheduling across systems such as avionics, cargo, electrical power, environmental control and lighting. Both solutions promise guaranteed component availability, lower downtime and cost predictability through a fixed-rate model.
Under the contract, Collins will deliver predictive, reliability based maintenance support to keep avionics performing at peak levels. “FlightSense will provide China Airlines with more than just reliable service and access to data, it will enable a connected aircraft ecosystem, turning raw data into actionable insights and smarter decisions for fleets,” said Brian Barta, Vice President and General Manager of Aftermarket Services and Support at Collins Aerospace. He added that the Dispatch programme will help the airline stay ahead of potential avionics issues through proactive support and global service centre access.
In parallel, Collins has renewed its FlightSense agreement with JAL for another ten years. This deal covers maintenance, repair, overhaul and asset management for JAL’s fleet of more than 50 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, including future deliveries through 2035. It includes support for air management systems and electric power components.
The renewal also extends JAL’s use of Ascentia analytics services for five more years. This platform will continue to provide data-driven insights to improve fleet performance and cut life-cycle costs.
