StandardAero has appointed Gregory Krekeler as President of its Component Repair Services (CRS) business. The company is a prominent, independent provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services. Its work includes engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) as well as engine component repair.
Krekeler takes over from Kimberly Ashmun. She will remain with StandardAero until the end of the year. This will help ensure a smooth handover. Krekeler will be based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He will report directly to Chief Operating Officer, Kim Ernzen.
Krekeler has more than 20 years of experience in the aerospace and defence sector. For the past three years, he has worked with StandardAero. His most recent role was Vice President and General Manager of the company’s facility in Maryville, Tennessee. Before joining StandardAero, he spent almost two decades at Boeing. There he held senior positions in engineering, supply chain and procurement. His career with Boeing included time both in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
Earlier in his career, Krekeler also worked with McDonnell Douglas. He held roles in engineering and programme leadership. His academic background is strong. He holds a Master of Business Administration. He also has a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science, both in Aerospace Engineering.
The appointment underlines StandardAero’s focus on strengthening leadership within its CRS business. It reflects the company’s strategy to combine technical knowledge with global experience. With Krekeler’s proven track record, the company expects to continue expanding its repair services while supporting customers worldwide.
