Brussels Airlines will add five new Airbus A320neo aircraft to its fleet. This move brings the total number of A320neo aircraft to 13. It reflects the airline’s drive to cut emissions, improve passenger comfort and grow sustainably.
The airline currently flies five A320neos. Three more will join in the coming months. The next delivery from Airbus in Toulouse is due in November.
The Board of Directors has now approved five further aircraft, with deliveries scheduled from 2027. Most will replace older planes, while one will grow the fleet. The A320 family serves Brussels Airlines’ short- and medium-haul network.
Dorothea von Boxberg, CEO of Brussels Airlines, said the investment is possible thanks to a cost structure that supports sustainable profitability. She added that the A320neo reduces the airline’s environmental footprint while giving passengers a better travel experience.
The aircraft offers up to 20% lower CO₂ emissions and 50% less noise compared with earlier models. Larger overhead bins provide 40% more storage, helping boarding run more smoothly. These features underline the airline’s commitment to efficiency and passenger comfort.
Brussels Airlines is also planning wider investments. Its long-haul fleet will grow to 13 Airbus A330 aircraft. From 2027, the airline will introduce new cabins across intercontinental routes. It will also renovate its award-winning Brussels Airport lounge, THE LOFT.
The addition of new-generation aircraft, together with upcoming cabin and lounge upgrades, marks a clear step forward. Brussels Airlines is shaping a future built on sustainability, efficiency and a better journey for its passengers.
