Global aviation software provider Ramco Systems has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with The ePlane Company (ePlane), also known as Ubifly Technologies Private Limited. The Chennai-based start-up is developing the ePlane e200X, India’s first flying electric taxi, aimed at transforming urban mobility.
Under the MoU, ePlane will use Ramco Aviation Software to manage the complete lifecycle of its e200X fleet, including air taxis, air ambulances, and cargo aircraft.
As the e200X moves through certification and regulatory approvals, Ramco and ePlane will roll out the software in stages. Each phase will align with ePlane’s transition from design to production and commercial service. As a result, the partnership will create a solid digital foundation that supports scalable, sustainable growth.
In addition, ePlane will gain access to Ramco’s full suite of aviation software modules. These include engineering and CAMO, maintenance, supply chain, MRO and part sales, flight operations, safety, quality and compliance, manufacturing, employee management, and finance. Together, these tools will help the company streamline operations, meet compliance standards, and enhance efficiency.
Professor Satya Chakravarthy, founder of The ePlane Company, said developing India’s first electric air taxi requires both technical excellence and a trusted technology partner. He added that Ramco’s platform helps manage complexity across engineering, operations, and regulation while keeping the company agile and future-ready.
Furthermore, Chakravarthy said the MoU marks the start of a strategic collaboration that will help the company stay ahead as it prepares for manufacturing and commercial rollout.
Ultimately, this partnership blends Ramco’s proven aviation expertise with ePlane’s innovative vision, paving the way for India’s next chapter in urban air mobility.
