Kuehne+Nagel plans to acquire Eastway Global Forwarding Ltd., a leading name in aerospace logistics. The move strengthens its global network and drives its growth in the fast-evolving aerospace sector.
Headquartered in Limerick, Ireland, Eastway operates across 130 countries. The family-run business has built a solid reputation as a trusted logistics partner. It delivers time-critical aircraft-on-ground (AOG) services, manages aircraft engine transport, handles aviation warehousing, and supports customs clearance. In addition, it serves the aviation leasing industry with full lifecycle solutions.
The aviation lessor market now owns over half of the world’s aircraft fleet and continues to expand rapidly. Analysts expect its value to climb from US$187.1 billion in 2024 to US$565.1 billion by 2034, marking an 11.8% annual growth rate. With this acquisition, Kuehne+Nagel positions itself to capture new opportunities in this growing field.
“Eastway fits perfectly with Kuehne+Nagel,” said Yngve Ruud, Member of the Management Board for Air Logistics. “It brings proven expertise and a loyal customer base. This deal strengthens our aerospace logistics offering worldwide and accelerates our expansion plans.”
The companies aim to close the transaction by the end of 2025, pending regulatory approval and standard conditions. After completion, Eastway will operate as a fully owned subsidiary of Kuehne+Nagel.
By joining forces, both companies can deliver faster, more reliable logistics solutions to the aviation industry. The acquisition marks another step in Kuehne+Nagel’s strategy to build specialised logistics capabilities and reinforce its leadership in a market set for long-term growth.
