Eve Air Mobility (Eve) has signed a landmark framework agreement with Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT). The announcement, made during the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum 2025, highlights Eve’s strong push to advance sustainable air mobility across the Middle East. It also reinforces Bahrain’s ambition to lead the region in next-generation transport innovation.

Under the agreement, both partners will accelerate Bahrain’s readiness for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. They will work together to build the regulatory, operational, and infrastructure foundations needed for safe and efficient air mobility. As part of this effort, they plan to establish a sandbox environment to test and refine new air mobility systems.

Furthermore, the partnership will drive the creation of vertiport infrastructure to support scalable eVTOL operations. It will also promote zero-emission and low-noise technologies to ensure sustainable urban transport. In addition, both sides will invest in workforce training to build local expertise and prepare for future operations.

Commercial flights are set to begin in 2028. Shortly after, in 2029, Bahrain aims to expand services to international routes, strengthening regional connectivity and economic growth.

His Excellency Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, said the agreement proves Bahrain’s firm commitment to aviation innovation. “Together with Eve Air Mobility, we will make safe and sustainable aviation a reality for Bahrain, the GCC, and the wider world,” he said.

Through this partnership, Eve brings global experience in eVTOL development, while Bahrain contributes a bold vision for future mobility. Together, they aim to position the Kingdom as a regional hub for advanced air transport—shaping a cleaner, faster, and more connected future for aviation.
