Embraer delivered the 50th E195-E2 aircraft to Porter Airlines (Porter) in December 2025, marking a significant milestone in one of North America’s most dynamic fleet expansion programmes. Since taking delivery of its first E2 jet in December 2022, Porter has pursued an ambitious strategy to reshape air travel across the region while setting a new benchmark for the passenger experience.
Porter has firm orders for 75 aircraft, together with purchase rights for a further 25, which could expand its E2 fleet to as many as 100 aircraft. The E195-E2 has been central to the airline’s rapid network growth across Canada and the United States, and more recently into the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.
As part of its bold expansion strategy, Porter is extending its elevated economy offering into popular leisure markets in the south. This season, the airline has launched 13 new routes to five key destinations — Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman and Liberia in Costa Rica — from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Hamilton. With the addition of its 50th E2, Porter plans to continue assessing opportunities to increase capacity across its expanding network.
Michael Deluce, President & CEO of Porter Airlines, said, “Since Porter’s founding in 2006, we have consistently focused on raising the bar for our passengers by proving that economy flying can and should be pleasurable for everyone. The E2’s introduction into our fleet is allowing us to turbocharge these efforts as the fastest growing airline in North America over the last three years. The aircraft offers an incredible passenger experience and supports our promise as being the only airline in the region with no middle seats for any passenger on any flight. Our story is continuing as we reset the competitive landscape.”
