Arena Aviation Capital (Arena) has completed the acquisition of a portfolio of ten Airbus A321-200 aircraft operated by Vietnam Airlines. The aircraft were purchased from Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Joint Stock Company (VALC) and represent Arena’s single largest transaction since its launch in 2013.

Patrick den Elzen, Arena CEO and CCO Erik Dahmen, congratulated its team on its year-end transaction: “It was immensely challenging at times; with cultural and structural complexities we had not experienced before. Having our local presence and legal support, very familiar with the Southeast Asia business culture, was key to this success.” stated Dahmen.

This deal follows the company’s Summer 2025 transactions, which marked a significant period of activity for Arena Aviation Capital and highlighted its continued ability to execute complex, multi-aircraft acquisitions on behalf of institutional investors.

In July 2025, Arena completed the acquisition of a portfolio of ten Embraer E190-100 LR aircraft operated by Aeromexico, acting for a US-based investor client. The aircraft represent Arena’s first investment in the regional aircraft segment, broadening its asset management platform beyond mainline narrow-body aircraft and demonstrating its capability to access new areas of the commercial aviation market.

In August 2025, Arena Capital Aviation announced the acquisition of a further diversified portfolio on behalf of a US-based investment fund, comprising six Airbus A320-200 aircraft and two Boeing 737NGs. The aircraft are on lease to a group of well-established airlines, including easyJet, Air France, Avianca and Norwegian, reflecting Arena’s focus on assets with strong airline credits and attractive lease profiles. The portfolio was acquired from AerCap, the Irish-based and world’s largest aircraft leasing company.
