New Horizon Aircraft has announced significant technical updates to its Cavorite X7, further enhancing safety, aerodynamics and cruise performance.

Following the successful transition flight of its large-scale prototype in May 2025, which validated the company’s patented fan-in-wing technology, Horizon Aircraft has progressed to the design and build of its full-scale hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft. The refined Cavorite X7 design is the result of close collaboration between Horizon Aircraft’s experienced engineering team and internationally recognised mobility designer Andrea Mocellin, delivering further safety improvements while optimising overall performance.

The aircraft now incorporates a total of 12 vertical lift fans, with five in each wing and one in each canard. By replacing four smaller canard fans with two wing-sized units, all 12 lift fans are standardised, improving manufacturing efficiency, boosting performance and simplifying maintenance. This change has been implemented without reducing safety margins, supported by a redundant dual-motor architecture powering each lift fan.

Aerodynamic efficiency has also been improved through the re-profiling of the canard and tail surfaces, reducing drag, enhancing cruise efficiency and improving overall stability in flight.

Passenger comfort has been further elevated through a slight extension of the cabin and a redesigned window layout, providing increased legroom and improved sightlines to create a more spacious and premium in-cabin experience.
