Archer Aviation (Archer) has signed a partnership agreement with the Government of the Republic of Serbia as the country positions itself to play a leading role in the adoption of electric air taxis across Europe. Under the agreement, Serbia has selected Archer as its preferred eVTOL partner and retains the option to acquire an initial fleet of Archer’s Midnight aircraft, with provision for the purchase of up to 25 aircraft in line with the applicable legal framework.
The agreement was signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in the presence of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Archer founder and Chief Executive Officer Adam Goldstein. The signing formally establishes Archer as Serbia’s preferred air taxi partner and marks a significant step in the country’s advanced air mobility ambitions.
The partnership builds on Archer’s expanding portfolio of public-private collaborations aimed at launching air taxi services in international markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, Japan and Korea. Serbia’s inclusion further strengthens Archer’s presence in Europe as governments explore sustainable and innovative transport solutions.
As part of the agreement, Archer will act as the official air taxi partner for EXPO 2027 Belgrade, which will run from May to August 2027. Serbia intends to use the global event to showcase next-generation transport technologies and demonstrate the potential benefits of advanced air mobility to an international audience.
Belgrade secured the right to host EXPO 2027 following a competitive international selection process and is expected to welcome millions of visitors from more than 130 countries. The event is anticipated to drive substantial investment in infrastructure and transport, creating long-term benefits for the city and the wider region.
Alongside the air taxi partnership, Archer has entered into a strategic dialogue with the Serbian government to explore potential cooperation on industrial development. Discussions include opportunities related to industrialisation, rare earth magnets and critical minerals used in battery production.
