Regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord has delivered an OEM-refurbished De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 to Australian carrier Nexus Airlines (Nexus), reinforcing the airline’s regional operations across Western Australia. The turboprop enters service immediately under a long-term operating lease and becomes the fourth TrueNoord aircraft to join the Nexus fleet.
The latest addition forms part of Nexus Airlines’ ongoing fleet development strategy, aimed at strengthening regional connectivity in Western Australia. The Dash 8-400 is particularly well suited to the carrier’s network, offering strong fuel efficiency and reliable performance in hot and demanding operating conditions typical of the region.
Carst Lindeboom, Sales Director Asia Pacific at TrueNoord, said the delivery further consolidates the partnership between the lessor and the airline. He emphasised that the OEM Refurbished Programme provides operators with a platform combining established reliability and operational versatility, enabling efficient service to regional communities. Lindeboom also highlighted the productive collaboration with De Havilland Canada in completing the project.
The aircraft was refurbished at De Havilland Canada’s facilities in Calgary under the manufacturer’s OEM Refurbished Programme. The initiative is designed to deliver aircraft that match the dependability of new-production models while incorporating tailored upgrades aligned with individual operator requirements. This approach allows airlines to access high-quality aircraft with enhanced value and performance characteristics.
Michael McConachy, Managing Director of Nexus Airlines, described the acquisition as a significant step in the carrier’s fleet strategy. He noted that the addition supports the airline’s commitment to providing reliable, community-focused air services throughout Western Australia.
