Safran, through its Safran Corporate Ventures arm, has invested in French avionics start-up Metavonics as part of a €7.3 million Series A funding round alongside safety-critical technology specialist TTTech.
Founded in 2021, Metavonics develops modular, next-generation avionics solutions designed to improve the safety, performance and efficiency of onboard aircraft systems while reducing weight, energy consumption and cost. Its approach combines standardised, certifiable electronic components with software tools that simplify the development, integration and maintenance of avionics throughout their lifecycle.
The investment is accompanied by a partnership agreement with Safran Electronics & Defense and forms part of Safran’s strategy to support innovative aerospace startups focused on safety-critical technologies. Safran said Metavonics’ modular architecture has the potential to accelerate avionics development and enhance the reliability of onboard systems.
