Scandinavian carrier SAS has ordered 18 Airbus A330-900 aircraft to support its fleet renewal and long-haul growth strategy.
The agreement was signed in Copenhagen by SAS CEO Anko van der Werff and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice President Sales, Commercial Aircraft. The new aircraft will enable SAS to expand its international network, increase capacity on existing long-haul routes and launch new destinations.

It will allow us to deliver an exceptional customer experience, expand our network, and offer greater flexibility and convenience for our passengers. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Airbus well into the future,” said van der Werff.
Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the A330-900 has a range of up to 15,000 km and delivers a 25% reduction in fuel burn, CO2 emissions and operating costs compared with previous-generation competing aircraft. The aircraft also features Airbus’ Airspace cabin, offering the latest in-flight comfort and passenger amenities.
