Airbus Helicopters has delivered the fourth and final H125 to the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources (NSDNR), completing the province’s fleet renewal programme.
Ordered in 2024, the four new helicopters replace a fleet that entered service in 2016. They will support a range of critical provincial missions, including wildfire response, search and rescue, aerial surveillance, and the transport of personnel and supplies to remote areas.
“These helicopters are essential tools for responding quickly to emergencies, supporting wildfire response, search and rescue, and other critical work that helps keep Nova Scotians safe,” said Minister of Natural Resources Tory Rushton. “Thank you to the team at Airbus for working closely with our Air Services team to ensure these aircraft are equipped for their wide range of duties.”
The helicopters have been tailored to NSDNR’s operational requirements with Canadian-designed supplemental type certificates and specialised mission equipment. Features include high-visibility doors, cargo pods, longline capability, cargo mirrors, an enlarged floor window, a cable cutter, a litter kit and an optimised utility panel.
