Boeing has announced a series of new aircraft commitments from AerCap, Luxair and Uganda Airlines, strengthening demand for its 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner programmes.
Aircraft lessor AerCap has placed an order for 15 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, increasing its 787 portfolio to around 140 aircraft. The agreement includes substitution rights for the larger 787-10, giving the lessor additional flexibility to meet airline customer requirements.
Luxair has converted two options for the Boeing 737-10 into firm orders and secured options for two more aircraft. The latest agreement builds on the Luxembourg flag carrier’s 2024 order and will expand its Boeing narrow-body fleet to 12 aircraft, comprising eight 737-8s and four 737-10s once all firm orders have been delivered.
Meanwhile, Uganda Airlines has placed its first direct order with Boeing, selecting four 737-8s and four 787-9 Dreamliners as it looks to modernise and expand its fleet. The aircraft will support growth across the carrier’s regional and long-haul network.
