Embraer has signed a long-term extension of its heavy maintenance agreement with SkyWest Airlines, covering the US carrier’s fleet of 271 E175 regional jets.

Under the expanded agreement, heavy maintenance work will continue at Embraer’s facilities in Nashville, Tennessee, Macon, Georgia, and Fort Worth, Texas, with increased capacity to support SkyWest’s long-term fleet requirements.

The extension strengthens a longstanding partnership between the companies and comes as Embraer continues to expand its US maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) network. The manufacturer is investing around US$70 million in a new commercial aviation MRO facility at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, due to enter service in 2027.

Once operational, the new facility is expected to increase Embraer’s E-Jets maintenance capacity in the US by more than 50%, supporting growing demand for MRO services across North America.
