EirTrade Aviation Maintenance (EirTrade) has secured operational authorisations from the Bailiwick of Guernsey (2-REG), the Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI) and the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) for its expanding maintenance facility at Ireland West Airport Knock.
The authorisations cover aircraft operations, transitions, parking and storage, enabling the company to support aircraft registered with the three overseas aviation authorities.
The authorisations follow EirTrade’s expansion of its EASA Part-145 capabilities in 2025 to include the Airbus A320neo powered by PW1100 engines and the Airbus A330. The company said the move responds to demand from airlines and lessors using the Guernsey, Cayman Islands and Bermuda aircraft registers.
To obtain the approvals, EirTrade prepared maintenance organisation manual supplements, updated documentation, trained staff and authorised certifying personnel before successfully completing desktop and on-site audits by the three regulators.
“The potential opportunities were realised immediately,” said Jim Maguinness, Quality Manager – EirTrade Aviation . “We welcomed two aircraft into parking and storage programmes – one is 2-REG and the second is Cayman Reg. Both are new customers for EirTrade Aviation Maintenance Limited.”
