Aircraft investment specialist Stratos has acquired an Airbus A321-200 on lease to Air Transat, adding the Canadian carrier as a new client within its growing serviced aircraft portfolio.
The aircraft was acquired from a major lessor and further expands Stratos’ managed fleet while bringing both a new airline and new investor client into its portfolio.
Jamie Carter, EVP Commercial and Trading at Stratos, said the transaction demonstrated the company’s continued ability to attract new airline and investor clients.
“This acquisition, from a major lessor, continues to add not only new airline clients to our broad managed portfolio but also new investor clients, demonstrating how we are continuing to build on our already substantial track record of providing our investor clients with world-class underwriting and attractive above-market returns,” Carter said.
Stratos is an independent aircraft investment specialist and a top ten aircraft asset manager, providing aircraft acquisition, remarketing, servicing, advisory and capital-raising services to airlines, lenders and investors in the large commercial aircraft sector.
To date, the company has placed, financed or sourced more than 260 new and used aircraft valued at over US$13bn, while raising or trading US$4.2bn in aircraft-backed debt.
Stratos currently manages a fleet of 56 aircraft valued at approximately US$3bn.
