MACH OE, an open-ended aircraft fund, took delivery of two new Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft on July 29 and 30, 2026, placing both on long-term leases with United Airlines. The aircraft are the first of several targeted acquisitions planned in the coming months as MACH OE builds its seed portfolio.

MACH OE was jointly established by Mercuria Investment Co. (MIC) and Airborne Capital Limited (ACL) as a new open-ended aircraft fund, as announced on January 15, 2026. The Development Bank of Japan Inc. joined as an anchor investor for the fund’s first close, completed on April 30, 2026.

MIC and ACL have also completed a strategic business alliance with Daiwa JPI Alternative Investments Co., Ltd. (DKAI), part of Daiwa Securities Group Inc. DKAI and Daiwa Asset Management Co., Ltd. will support MACH OE’s growth through operational services and by introducing the fund to a broad range of potential investors.

According to MHD research, MACH OE is the first open-ended aircraft fund of its kind launched by a Japan-based asset manager. It is expected to attract primarily institutional capital, including financial institutions, pension funds, corporations and educational institutions.

MACH OE is targeting an aircraft portfolio of more than US$1 billion.
