VSE Corporation (VSE) has disclosed the acquisition of Atech Turbine Components (Atech), a specialist maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider focused on complex hot-section components for aircraft turbine engines.
Founded in 1990 and based in Auburn, Massachusetts, Atech specialises in proprietary engine component repairs, primarily for Pratt & Whitney Canada platforms. Its approvals cover more than 300 part numbers, and it is the sole-source provider for many flight-critical repairs across several engine families and the PW901 auxiliary power unit. Its approximately 40 employees deliver highly technical repairs for hot-section and structural engine components supporting business, commercial, military, rotorcraft and special-mission aviation.
The acquisition adds more than 300 specialised, proprietary and OEM-approved repairs to VSE Aviation’s engine aftermarket platform, expanding its capabilities beyond parts distribution and accessory MRO into differentiated engine component repair. Atech’s long-standing relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada also strengthens VSE’s alignment with a key OEM partner and broadens its aftermarket support across critical engine platforms. VSE plans to expand Atech’s capacity and capabilities, accelerate the development of new proprietary repairs and support future organic growth.
“This acquisition represents another important step in the expansion of VSE Aviation’s engine aftermarket capabilities,” commented John Cuomo, President and CEO of VSE Corporation. “Atech brings a differentiated portfolio of proprietary repairs, highly technical capabilities and a deep relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada across some of the most important engine platforms in the aviation aftermarket. By adding Atech to VSE, we are expanding the breadth of solutions we provide to our OEM partners and customers while creating another attractive platform for long-term organic growth.”
Rita Kapur, President of Atech Turbine Components praised the company for their achievements: “Our people, our reputation, and the trust we have earned from our customers are what defines us. This partnership with VSE Aviation allows us to build on that foundation while creating even greater opportunities for growth. VSE shares our commitment to technical excellence, exceptional customer service, and investment in our people. Together, we will have greater resources and capabilities to expand our specialized repair portfolio, deepen our customer relationships, and continue delivering the quality and service that have defined Atech Turbine Components for decades.”
