Lufthansa Technik and Emirates reinforced their long-standing A380 base maintenance agreement. Under the new multi-year contract, Lufthansa Technik Philippines, the global MRO provider’s Asian centre of excellence for widebody base maintenance, will continue carrying out heavy checks on Emirates’ A380s until 2030.
The programme is already under way at Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ existing maintenance facility in Manila, where two base maintenance lines are dedicated to Emirates. The airline will also serve as the launch customer for the company’s new facility at Clark International Airport once it becomes operational.
The agreement is among the largest by value in Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ history, underlining the strength and longevity of the relationship between the two companies. Emirates, the world’s largest Airbus A380 operator, has drawn on Lufthansa Technik’s extensive heavy maintenance expertise for its flagship double-deck aircraft since 2023. Lufthansa Technik Philippines has completed more than 30 A380 checks for the airline to date.
Kai Roepke, Vice-President Corporate Sales Europe, Middle East and Africa at Lufthansa Technik, thanks Emirates for its continued trust and confidence in the company. “This agreement reflects the success of our partnership and the high quality consistently delivered by our teams. As the world’s leading provider of MRO services, we are proud to support the operation of the world’s largest passenger aircraft and to further strengthen our collaboration with Emirates. We look forward to continuing to offer reliable, high-quality maintenance support for the airline’s impressive A380 fleet in the years ahead.”
