Egyptian carrier AIRCAIRO has signed a firm order for 15 Airbus A320neo aircraft at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026, marking a major step in its long-term expansion strategy.
The agreement with AIRCAIRO will see introduce directly owned aircraft alongside its existing leased Airbus fleet, giving the airline greater flexibility as it expands its operations.
AIRCAIRO has grown rapidly in recent years, increasing its fleet from seven aircraft five years ago to more than 45 today. The airline aims to operate a fleet of more than 130 aircraft by 2034.
The new order is expected to provide additional capacity and operational efficiency as the carrier expands its domestic, regional and international network, while strengthening connectivity to and from Egypt.
Hussein Sherif, Chairman and CEO of AIRCAIRO, said the agreement was a “natural next step” in the airline’s growth.
“Combining owned aircraft with our leased fleet gives us greater operational flexibility and financial efficiency as we scale up,” he said.
Sherif added that the A320neo would provide the capacity required to meet growing demand for travel to and from Egypt and support the country’s aviation and tourism sectors in partnership with Airbus.
