Assaia, a provider of artificial intelligence and computer-vision technology for airport operations, said United Airlines Ventures (UAV), the venture capital arm of United Airlines, has invested in the company.

The investment, made earlier this year, will support further development of Assaia’s StandManager product, which is designed to help airlines and airports make stand and gate allocation decisions as operating conditions change.

UAV invests in technologies aimed at advancing aviation and connects portfolio companies with industry expertise. Its investment in Assaia reflects its confidence in the company’s approach to addressing increasingly complex airport operations, Assaia said.

StandManager is part of Assaia’s ResourceManager platform and combines operational data, business rules and real-time conditions to support stand and gate planning.

The system uses Assaia’s artificial intelligence and computer-vision technology to help airport operators respond to changing conditions and manage stand and gate allocation, an increasingly complex operational task.
