GMF AeroAsia (GMF), part of the Garuda Indonesia Group, and FTAI Aviation have expanded their strategic partnership to increase engine and auxiliary power unit maintenance capacity and strengthen their presence in the Asia-Pacific market.
The initial agreement covers CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines and GTCP131-9 series APUs, with GMF guaranteeing capacity for FTAI over the next five years. The partnership was formalised at MRO Asia-Pacific 2026 in Singapore.
The companies already work together, with GMF providing engine maintenance services to FTAI. The expanded partnership is expected to support a gradual move into deeper module and component work, as well as next-generation engines including CFM International’s LEAP.
GMF Chief Executive Andi Fahrurrozi said the agreement would help the company respond to rising engine maintenance demand from FTAI, its customers and the wider regional aviation market.
The partnership will allow GMF to expand its customer base in Asia-Pacific and globally while building its maintenance capacity and capabilities, Fahrurrozi said.
