Saab has received a SEK 1.3 billion order from Sweden’s Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to develop a new-generation flight control computer for the Gripen fighter aircraft, with deliveries planned for 2030.
The programme will replace the aircraft’s existing flight control computer with a future-proof system designed to meet long-term requirements for availability, performance and security of supply. The project will be carried out in close cooperation with FMV.
The flight control computer is a key component of Gripen’s flight control system, enabling safe and precise manoeuvring.
“We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with FMV. The new flight control computer will contribute to Gripen’s capability and performance for decades to come,” said Marcus Wandt, Head of Saab’s Aeronautics Business Area.
