TCE is helping passenger airline TUI Airline develop the freight potential of its leisure network by integrating sales, operations and compliance to build a cargo business alongside its established passenger services.
Since January 2019, TCE has provided specialist support for TUI Airline’s cargo operations, covering commercial development, customer management, booking coordination, operational support, quality assurance and security requirements. The arrangement gives the airline an integrated cargo capability while allowing its teams to focus on their core passenger business.
The partnership aims to capitalise on the freight capacity available on aircraft serving holiday destinations. Turning that capacity into a reliable commercial service requires specialist expertise, established customer relationships and coordination across the cargo operation.
“Aircraft capacity creates an opportunity, but expertise turns it into a business,” said Sarah Scheibe, managing director of TCE.
“We bring together the commercial relationships, operational coordination and compliance support that TUI Airline needs to develop its cargo activity. Our role is to make the airline’s capacity accessible to freight customers through a professionally managed service,” she added.
TUI Airline identified cargo as an increasingly important means of maximising the value of its network and meeting demand for reliable air freight services. Achieving this required a partner capable of managing the business beyond the initial sale.
TCE acts as an extension of the airline’s organisation, linking sales and marketing with customer service, capacity management and operational delivery. This approach helps ensure that commitments made to customers are aligned with the practical requirements of transporting their shipments.
