Leasing firm Patriot Dynamics has agreed to buy six spare engines from CFM International, comprising three LEAP-1A engines for the Airbus A320neo family and three LEAP-1B engines for the Boeing 737 MAX family.
The agreement marks the first purchase deal between Patriot Dynamics and CFM.
The transaction supports Patriot Dynamics’ strategy to expand its spare engine portfolio and diversify its funding structure, said David Rojas, a partner at the leasing firm.
“This agreement is an important step in our strategy to expand our spare engine portfolio while successfully scaling and diversifying our fund structure,” said David Rojas, Partner at Patriot Dynamics. “We recognise the reliability, fuel efficiency, and performance of the LEAP engine family, and we are pleased to work with CFM to support our customers.”
CFM has delivered more than 10,000 LEAP engines since they entered service a decade ago, accumulating more than 100 million flight hours.
The engine maker is continuing to upgrade the fleet, including through a high-pressure turbine durability kit designed to extend time on wing and a reverse bleed system.
CFM said it was focused on maximising engine availability through MRO performance, competitive ownership costs and an open MRO ecosystem that supports aftermarket competition.
