Bell Textron has received an order from Global Medical Response (GMR) for additional Bell 407GXis to support the US emergency medical services provider’s helicopter air ambulance fleet.
The order was announced at the annual Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC). The new aircraft will strengthen GMR’s ability to provide emergency medical services in both rural and metropolitan communities across the United States.
GMR is the country’s largest emergency medical services provider, operating an extensive network of air and ground assets to deliver critical and pre-hospital care. Its air medical teams transport patients to advanced medical facilities, including those in remote areas where rapid access to treatment is essential.
The company operates the largest Bell helicopter air ambulance fleet, with more than 170 Bell aircraft supporting emergency medical missions nationwide.
The Bell 407GXi is a multi-role helicopter widely used for helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) worldwide. Equipped with Garmin’s G1000H NXi avionics suite and instrument flight rules (IFR) capability, the aircraft offers enhanced situational awareness, strong hot-and-high performance and fuel efficiency.
Its versatile cabin and wide-access doors facilitate the rapid loading and unloading of patients and medical equipment, making it suitable for time-critical air medical transport operations.
