Air Europa has extended its exclusive Boeing 787 nacelle maintenance agreement with Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, through 2037, securing long-term support for its Dreamliner fleet.
The renewed agreement aims to improve operational reliability, strengthen maintenance planning and optimise costs for thrust reverser and nacelle services.
As its fleet ages, the Spanish airline is adopting a more proactive maintenance strategy to ensure rapid nacelle support during aircraft-on-ground events and improve the planning of scheduled shop visits. The approach is designed to reduce unscheduled downtime and maintain fleet availability.
“Extending our relationship with Collins Aerospace for the next decade demonstrates Air Europa’s confidence in Collins’ nacelle support capabilities,” said Pedro Macías, the airline’s chief technical officer.
He said the agreement would improve daily operations, parts availability, shop turnaround times and budget accuracy.
The revised service structure will also deliver savings in nacelle maintenance, transportation and leasing costs. Air Europa plans to position nacelles at its main base and introduce a forward exchange solution to improve parts availability, simplify maintenance planning and provide greater cost predictability.
