Government of Iraq orders four more CRJ900 NextGen airliners

The Government of Iraq has placed a firm order for four additional CRJ900 NextGen regional jets, and has taken options on another ten. The firm-ordered aircraft are conversions of the four options Iraq took when it ordered six CRJ900 NextGen airliners, announced on March 13, 2008. Based on the list price for the CRJ900 NextGen aircraft, the contract announced today is valued at approximately $159 million. If all ten options are exercised, the value of the contract could rise to $573 million. The CRJ900 NextGen aircraft will be used to rebuild domestic and regional civil airline services in Iraq.
