The Chairman of Qantas Airways Limited, Mr Leigh Clifford, announced that Alan Joyce would become Chief Executive Officer of Qantas upon the retirement of Geoff Dixon. Mr Clifford said Mr Joyce, currently Chief Executive Officer of Qantas subsidiary airline Jetstar, was an outstanding executive with wide experience in all facets of the airline industry.
Geoff Dixon would step down as Qantas Chief Executive after Qantas’ Annual General Meeting on 28 November 2008.
