Southwest Airlines reports fourth quarter net loss of $56 million

Southwest Airlines reported a fourth quarter 2008 net loss of $56 million compared to net income of $111 million for fourth quarter 2007. Excluding these special charges and other items, fourth quarter 2008 net income was $61 million compared to $87 million in fourth quarter 2007.
