Air New Zealand and Cathay Pacific have welcomed the decision by the Minister of Transport Phil Twyford to re-authorise their joint venture alliance for a further five years until October 31, 2024.
Air New Zealand Chief Strategy, Networks and Alliances Officer Nick Judd states the Cathay Pacific partnership plays a significant role in the airline’s Pacific Rim network strategy. Cathay Pacific Director Commercial Lavinia Lau says New Zealand is an important part of its network and a popular destination for customers.
During peak months, the alliance partners jointly operate a total of 25 return services per week, including four services between Christchurch and Hong Kong.
