The Lufthansa Group has announced plans to recruit approximately 10,000 new employees in 2025, spanning a wide range of professions. This includes more than 2,000 flight attendants, 1,400 ground operations staff, 1,300 technical experts and 1,200 administrative personnel. Additionally, around 800 pilots will be hired across the Group. Over half of the recruitment will take place in Germany.
Lufthansa Technik alone is set to welcome over 2,000 new employees, while Austrian Airlines and Eurowings each plan to recruit approximately 700 staff. Lufthansa Airlines, however, will focus on its Turnaround efficiency programme in 2025, aiming to hire around 1,200 employees over the next year, with a primary focus on operational roles.
The Group has successfully onboarded more than 30,000 new employees over the past three years. In 2024 alone, it received 350,000 applications and recruited over 13,000 employees, underscoring its status as an attractive employer with diverse job opportunities.
Michael Niggemann, Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and responsible for Human Resources and Legal Affairs, reaffirmed the Group's commitment to providing varied career paths and welcoming new talent.
The Lufthansa Group currently employs over 100,000 people across more than 90 countries.
