Pratt & Whitney, a business of RTX, has announced the expansion of its global GTF engine maintenance network with the addition of ITP Aero. Based in Madrid, ITP will provide full maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, along with testing capabilities, for the PW1500G engines powering the Airbus A220 and the PW1900G used on the Embraer E-Jets E2 family. This move makes ITP the 21st facility in the GTF MRO network and the eighth located in Europe.
The partnership builds on more than ten years of collaboration between the two companies, during which ITP has contributed to the manufacturing and design of components for the GTF programme. As a risk revenue-sharing partner, ITP already produces key parts such as the mid-turbine frame and integrally bladed rotors made of nickel for high-pressure compressor components.
Keren Rambow, Vice President of GTF Aftermarket and Transformation at Pratt & Whitney, described the move as a natural step forward in their relationship, bringing ITP’s MRO expertise into the fold to help improve engine turnaround times for customers.
This addition further strengthens the GTF MRO network, which spans four continents and forms part of Pratt & Whitney’s broader EngineWise® aftermarket service offering.
