AEGEAN will add two Airbus A321neo XLR (extra-long range) aircraft to its fleet, enabling the airline to extend its international reach with flights of up to 10.5 hours. The two aircraft are scheduled for delivery in December 2025 and January 2026, and will support the airline’s upcoming launch of services to India, with flights to New Delhi beginning in March 2026 and Mumbai following in May 2026. These new long-haul routes mark a significant expansion of AEGEAN’s network beyond Europe and are expected to strengthen Greece’s role as a regional connectivity hub.
The arrival of the A321neo XLR aircraft brings AEGEAN’s total Airbus A320/A321neo order to 60 aircraft, 36 of which have already been delivered. The new aircraft offer an extended range—2.5 hours more than the A321neo LR and 4.5 hours more than the standard A321neo—allowing AEGEAN to serve distant destinations with greater flexibility. The aircraft will feature a premium cabin configuration with just 138 seats, including 24 business-class suites offering fully lie-flat beds, increased privacy and direct aisle access.
Economy-class passengers will also benefit from enhanced comfort, with extra personal space, 4K inflight entertainment screens, satellite Wi-Fi, USB charging and spacious overhead bins—all designed to improve the long-haul travel experience.
AEGEAN’s long-range sub-fleet will continue to grow with the future delivery of four A321neo LR aircraft in 2027 and 2028. These aircraft will support the potential launch of additional routes to destinations such as Bangalore, the Seychelles, the Maldives, Nairobi, Almaty and Lagos.
This strategic investment represents a major step forward in AEGEAN’s development, enhancing both passenger experience and international competitiveness. It reflects the airline’s commitment to offering greater travel options and strengthening Greece’s position in global aviation.
