AviLease, a global aircraft lessor based in Saudi Arabia, has finalised its first lease deal with Riyadh Air. The agreement covers one Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and makes AviLease the first lessor to partner with the Kingdom’s new national carrier. The aircraft will arrive in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking a major step as Riyadh Air gears up for its commercial debut.
This milestone strengthens both companies. AviLease deepens its presence in the Kingdom’s fast-growing aviation market, while Riyadh Air accelerates the creation of a young, efficient fleet. The Boeing 787-9 offers long range, fuel savings, and outstanding passenger comfort. With these advantages, Riyadh Air can connect Saudi Arabia to new destinations and improve its operational performance.
Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer at Riyadh Air, praised the deal. He said the airline was thrilled to complete its first aircraft lease with AviLease. According to him, the 787-9 will play a vital role in providing guests with a superior travel experience. He also noted that this partnership reflects Riyadh Air’s ambition to become a leading global airline known for quality and innovation.
Moreover, the agreement supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the Saudi Aviation Strategy. Both initiatives aim to expand air connectivity, attract millions of travellers, and position the Kingdom as a major global transport hub. By investing in modern aircraft and strong partnerships, Riyadh Air contributes directly to these national goals.
As the airline prepares for take-off, momentum continues to build across the Saudi aviation sector. The collaboration with AviLease shows how strategic partnerships can fuel progress, sustainability, and global reach. Together, both companies are helping to shape the next era of air travel in Saudi Arabia — one built on innovation, ambition, and forward-looking vision.
