Embraer has entered a new phase of strategic collaboration in Poland, signing five memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (PGZ)—the country’s leading state-owned defence group—and its subsidiaries WZL-1, WZL-2, WSK “PZL-Kalisz”, and WBCKT.
The MoUs lay the foundation for extensive, long-term cooperation across the aerospace and defence sectors, underscoring Embraer’s commitment to deepening its industrial presence in Poland and supporting the creation of highly skilled jobs. Over the coming weeks, Embraer and PGZ will jointly evaluate multiple avenues for industrial partnership, including operational support; maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services; component manufacturing; supply chain solutions; and the design, development, production, industrialisation, engineering, and testing of aerospace systems. The potential scope may also extend into C4ISR-related activities.
Two of the new MoUs advance Embraer’s collaboration with WZL-1 and WZL-2—key pillars of the Polish aerospace ecosystem. The WZL-1 partnership will explore cooperation in metallic and composite component manufacturing, technology transfer, certification and quality assurance, and emerging aerospace technologies, all of which contribute to strengthening Poland’s industrial capabilities. The MoU with WZL-2 focuses on possible MRO collaboration for the KC-390 Millennium and other aircraft types, in addition to paint services.
Embraer has also broadened its engagement with WSK and WBCKT. The agreement with WSK considers future cooperation in component manufacturing, mechanical and heat-treatment processes, training initiatives, and consulting services. Meanwhile, the MoU with WBCKT will assess opportunities for the joint development of ground support equipment (GSE) tailored to the KC-390 Millennium multi-mission transport aircraft.
Together, these five MoUs represent a significant step forward in Embraer’s integration into Poland’s defence and aerospace landscape, paving the way for expanded industrial capacity, deeper technological cooperation, and long-term strategic partnership.
