Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) has appointed Greg Mays as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026. Mays succeeds Mike Berger, who is retiring. Berger will remain with ATSG in an advisory role for part of 2026 to support a smooth leadership transition.
Mays, who was named President of ATSG in September 2025, is an experienced aviation executive with a track record of delivering growth and operational excellence. Most recently, as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Sun Country Airlines, he led the airline through periods of rapid change and performance improvement. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Alaska Airlines, where he helped strengthen maintenance, engineering and labour relations during a period of transformation. He also spent more than a decade at Delta Air Lines, overseeing complex global operations across maintenance, ground handling and cargo.
Commenting on his appointment, Mays said: “I am honoured to have been named as the next leader of ATSG and look forward to building on the strong foundation that Mike established during his tenure. I am excited to continue working with our talented teams in my new role as we continue to innovate and expand ATSG’s capabilities, with a steadfast focus on safety, operational and financial excellence, and best-in-class service.”
