On January 12, ATR, the regional aircraft manufacturer, and JSX, the United States’ public charter air carrier marked a key milestone in their partnership with a ceremony at Santa Monica Airport to showcase JSX’s first ATR 42-600 aircraft.
JSX began operating its first ATR 42-600 in December 2025, on the Santa Monica to Las Vegas route, representing an early step in the airline’s fleet expansion. Building on this progress, the event also highlighted the next phase of the programme, with JSX set to operate four ATR 42-600 aircraft in early 2026, each configured with a premium 30-seat layout.
Designed to combine the convenience of semi-private travel with the efficiency of regional aviation, the ATR 42-600 will feature spacious cabins with business-class legroom, high-speed internet connectivity subject to certification, power outlets and complimentary onboard amenities. Together, these elements are intended to elevate the customer experience and redefine expectations in the US regional air travel market.
To enable JSX’s long-term strategy of reaching underserved, challenging airports across the Mountain West, ATR recently secured FAA approval for a critical modification that allows operations at high-altitude airports. It ensures JSX can expand its network to challenging airports, reinforcing the strategic importance of this partnership.
