Airbus Helicopters has secured a contract from the Ghanaian Ministry of Defence for a mixed fleet comprising two H175M helicopters, one ACH175 and one ACH160. The H175Ms will be deployed in a multi-mission role, supporting transport, search and rescue, emergency medical services and disaster relief operations, while the ACH175 and ACH160 will be used for transport missions.

Airbus Helicopters noted that the agreement marks its return to Ghana, with a renewed emphasis on long-term customer support and partnership in the country. The company also highlighted that the selection of the H175M underlines the aircraft’s versatility across defence and security missions, while the inclusion of the ACH160 and ACH175 positions Ghana as a leading customer in West Africa for Airbus’ premium corporate helicopter range.

The H175, which has been in service since 2014, is part of Airbus’ super-medium helicopter class. It combines long range and high payload capability with smooth flight characteristics, making it well suited to a broad spectrum of onshore and offshore missions. These include disaster relief, search and rescue, public service and military operations, as well as crew change, private and business aviation.
