Vietjet Air has confirmed a further expansion of its Airbus A320neo-family fleet, selecting an additional 44 aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. The new commitment includes 24 A321neo and 20 A321XLR aircraft, bringing Vietjet’s total orders for GTF-powered aircraft to 137. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2026.
As part of the agreement, Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, will also provide long-term engine support through a 12-year EngineWise Comprehensive maintenance service contract. This will ensure continued reliability and performance as Vietjet grows its operations across the region and beyond.
Vietjet, one of Asia’s fastest-growing airlines, continues to expand its fleet and flight network at pace. Managing Director Nguyen Thanh Son said the carrier values its strong partnership with Pratt & Whitney and its latest generation engine technology. He highlighted that the GTF engine is supporting Vietjet’s growth with industry-leading operating economics and fuel efficiency improvements of up to 20%.
Headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietjet took delivery of its first A321neo in 2018 and currently operates 42 GTF-powered A321neo aircraft. Prior to this latest order, the airline had already committed to up to 93 aircraft of the type, underlining its confidence in the platform and its long-term relationship with Pratt & Whitney.
