HAVELSAN, the Ankara-headquartered flight simulator manufacturer, has announced that its domestically developed Boeing 737NG Flight Training Device Level 2 (FTD Level 2) has received both FNPT II MCC and FTD 2 certifications from Türkiye’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The device has been delivered to SunExpress’s Antalya Training Centre, reinforcing the airline’s in-house pilot training capability. With certification complete, the simulator is fully operational and ready to support Boeing 737NG pilot training on site.
The certification represents a significant milestone for Türkiye’s civil aviation training sector. The simulator is the first Turkish-manufactured FTD Level 2 device and the first in the country to obtain FTD Level 2 certification. Its deployment also broadens HAVELSAN’s STARLINE FSTD product portfolio, which now comprises the STARLINE VEGA FTD Level 2 platform alongside its established full flight simulator solutions.
The simulator integrates HAVELSAN’s proprietary STARVIEW-B collimated imaging system, delivering high-fidelity visual representation to enhance pilot immersion and procedural accuracy. The incorporation of a domestically engineered visual system further advances Türkiye’s capabilities in advanced simulation technologies and underpins HAVELSAN’s domestic and export-focused growth strategy.
