Ascent Aviation Services (Ascent) has announced the immediate promotion of Tim McGuire to President & Chief Operating Officer. During the past four years as COO, McGuire has played a central role in strengthening the company’s operations, boosting productivity, reducing damage and rework, and reinforcing customer confidence. He has also established himself as a respected leader within the organisation and a valued partner to customers, employees and shareholders alike.
In his expanded position, McGuire will continue to oversee the company’s day-to-day operations while gradually taking on responsibility for additional corporate functions, including Sales & Marketing, Contracts and Finance. The transition will be managed carefully to maintain continuity for employees, customers and ongoing programmes, including preparations for the company’s first Boeing 777-300ER passenger-to-freighter conversion programme.
Once these responsibilities have been transferred, McGuire will take overall responsibility for the company’s day-to-day management, while the current leadership will place greater emphasis on corporate strategy, growth opportunities, shareholder relations and the long-term positioning of Ascent. Reporting structures will remain unchanged for the time being, with further updates to be communicated as the transition progresses.
David Querio congratulated McGuire on his promotion, describing it as well deserved and expressing confidence in his leadership as Ascent continues to build for the future. He also praised the wider team for its ongoing efforts in driving the company’s growth and strengthening the global recognition of the Ascent Aviation Services brand.
The leadership transition follows the departure of Chief Commercial Officer Scott Butler last month, with Scott Diaz appointed Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing as part of a broader strengthening of the company’s executive structure.
