AerCap has signed lease agreements with China Southern Air Logistics for three Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighter aircraft, marking another step in the companies’ long-standing partnership.
The Boeing 777-300ERSF, known as “The Big Twin“, is the first passenger-to-freighter conversion programme developed for the Boeing 777-300ER. The first aircraft is due to be delivered in October 2027, with the remaining two scheduled for delivery in the first and second quarters of 2028.
AerCap Chief Executive Officer Aengus Kelly said the agreement would support China Southern Air Logistics’ continued growth in the global air cargo market. He noted that the aircraft combine long range, high payload capacity and fuel efficiency, powered by GE90 engines, while integrating seamlessly with the airline’s existing Boeing 777 fleet.
China Southern Air Logistics said the addition of the converted freighters represents an important milestone in the development of its fleet. Chairman Li Xiao said the aircraft would support the company’s strategy of expanding its intercontinental cargo network and strengthen its ability to provide customers with efficient long-haul freight services worldwide.
