The Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa has appointed Lorenza Maggio as the next Chief Executive Officer of Brussels Airlines, subject to approval by the Board of Directors of SN Airholding.
Maggio will also take on the role of Executive Board Representative to the European Commission. She will succeed Dorothea von Boxberg, who is leaving the company at her own request on August 31, 2026. The date of Maggio’s move from Rome to Brussels has yet to be confirmed.
An Italian national, Maggio has served on the Board of Directors of ITA Airways since January 2025 as Chief Strategy and Integration Officer, leading the carrier’s integration into the Lufthansa Group and overseeing its strategic development.
Before joining ITA Airways, Maggio was Vice President Sales for the Lufthansa Group’s network airlines across Europe (excluding home markets), the Middle East and Africa. She previously led brand and customer strategy at Eurowings and served as managing director of an LSG Group subsidiary.
