BOC Aviation placed its largest-ever engine order, agreeing to purchase and option up to 300 CFM International engines to support its expanding Airbus and Boeing narrow-body fleet, the companies announced at the Farnborough International Airshow.
The agreement covers orders and options for up to 200 LEAP-1A engines for Airbus A320neo-family aircraft and up to 100 LEAP-1B engines for Boeing 737-8 jets in BOC Aviation’s orderbook.
The transaction supports the lessor’s fleet growth plans through the next decade while expanding its portfolio of newer-generation aircraft with lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions.
For CFM International, the deal strengthens its long-standing relationship with one of the world’s largest aircraft lessors and secures additional demand for its LEAP engine family, which powers the latest Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
